Yuno Community Guidelines

Version: 1.1
Last Updated: April 16, 2026

Welcome to Yuno. Our goal is to create a respectful, safe, and authentic community for real-world social connection. These Community Guidelines explain what behavior is expected on Yuno, including in profiles, direct messages, activity chats, group chats, friend and join-request flows, map-based discovery, groups, activities, and meetups or other in-person interactions arranged through the platform.

1. Introduction

These Guidelines are part of Yuno's broader platform rules and are designed to protect users, support meaningful interaction, and reduce harmful conduct. By using Yuno, you agree to follow them.

We take safety seriously. If we believe you have violated these Guidelines, we may remove content, issue warnings, restrict account features, place your account under review, suspend your account, or permanently remove you from Yuno, depending on the severity and frequency of the conduct.

We may consider conduct that occurs both on and off the platform when that conduct is tied to Yuno use, including meetups, group events, activity participation, chats, requests, or other interactions arranged through the app.

2. Community Norms

Yuno works best when people use it honestly, respectfully, and for genuine social participation. The following principles apply across the platform.

  • Respectful communication: Treat other users with courtesy. Harassment, intimidation, humiliation, and repeated unwanted contact are not allowed.
  • Authenticity: Be real about who you are. Do not impersonate others, use deceptive identities, or misrepresent your age, student status, location, verification, or intentions.
  • Consent and boundaries: Respect personal boundaries in chats, on profiles, and during in-person interactions. “No,” silence, discomfort, or disengagement should be treated as a boundary.
  • Purposeful use: Use Yuno for genuine participation in the community. Do not use the platform primarily to spam, scam, manipulate, scrape, or exploit other users.
  • Reliability: If you create or join activities and groups, act in good faith. Repeated fake posts, deceptive listings, bait-and-switch plans, or habitual no-shows damage the community.
  • Privacy awareness: Protect your own privacy and the privacy of others. Do not pressure users to share contact details, financial information, sensitive personal data, or exact real-time location.

3. Prohibited Content and Conduct

The following categories of content and behavior are prohibited on Yuno, whether they occur in profiles, messages, activity or group chats, uploaded images, event details, group spaces, map discovery, or in-person interactions connected to the platform.

Harassment, Hate, and Abuse

  • Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, coercion, blackmail, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact.
  • Hate speech or dehumanizing content based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, or any other protected or vulnerable characteristic.
  • Sexual harassment, unwanted sexual comments, unwanted romantic pressure, attempts to shame, degrade, or humiliate others, or retaliating when someone sets a boundary.

Violence, Exploitation, and Dangerous Content

  • Content that promotes, threatens, glorifies, or depicts violence, exploitation, or serious physical harm.
  • Graphic gore, real or realistic depictions of serious injury, or content intended to shock or terrorize.
  • Content that promotes self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, dangerous challenges, or illegal violence.
  • Sexual exploitation, coercive sexual content, trafficking-related behavior, or any form of predatory conduct.

Sexual Content and Nudity

  • Explicit sexual content, pornography, sexually graphic messages, or unsolicited sexual images.
  • Sexually provocative profile content or attempts to use Yuno to solicit sexual services, explicit content, or commercial sexual activity.

Minors

  • Yuno is for adults only. Individuals under 18 may not use the platform.
  • You may not use Yuno to share sexualized content involving minors, arrange contact with minors, or upload images or information that exploits or endangers minors in any way.

Illegal Activity, Fraud, and Deception

  • Illegal activity of any kind, including drug distribution, trafficking, fraud, theft, or unlawful possession or promotion of weapons where prohibited by law.
  • Scams, phishing, impersonation, financial solicitation, fake emergencies, fake ride or meetup offers, or attempts to obtain money, gifts, login credentials, or personal data through deception.
  • Requests for donations, off-platform payment requests, or misleading offers designed to exploit another user.

Spam, Commercial Misuse, and Platform Manipulation

  • Bulk messaging, repetitive low-effort outreach, misleading links, or other spam-like behavior.
  • Using Yuno primarily for advertising, lead generation, solicitation, or unsolicited commercial promotion.
  • Using bots, scripts, scrapers, fake devices, VPN-based ban evasion, or other technical means to manipulate the platform or circumvent restrictions.
  • Trying to bypass moderation systems, image review, identity checks, student verification, premium restrictions, location limits, request approvals, or account restrictions.

4. Profiles, Verification, and Identity

Your profile should represent you accurately and should not put other people at risk.

  • Use photos of yourself only. Do not use someone else's photos, misleading edited photos, celebrity photos, memes, or images intended to impersonate another person.
  • Your name should reflect your real name or a real nickname you actually use.
  • Do not provide false information about your age, identity, school affiliation, approximate location, or account ownership.
  • Do not falsely claim to be verified, manipulate face verification, misuse school-email verification, or try to obtain badges or access benefits that do not belong to you.
  • Do not include highly sensitive personal information in your bio or public profile, such as financial account details, government ID numbers, full home address, class schedule, or other information that could place you or others at risk.
  • Do not upload verification selfies or other identity materials that belong to someone else.

5. Chats, Requests, and Messaging

Messaging on Yuno should be relevant, respectful, and safe. These expectations apply to direct messages, activity chats, group chats, friend requests, and join-request flows.

  • Do not send repeated unwanted messages, pressure people for a response, or continue contacting someone who has made it clear they are not interested.
  • Do not send unsolicited explicit messages, sexual propositions, or sexually suggestive images.
  • Do not use requests, chats, or reactions to harass, shame, dogpile, intimidate, or coordinate abuse toward another user.
  • Do not pressure users to move immediately off-platform or to share phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, financial information, passwords, or verification codes.
  • Do not use chat to run scams, request money, or mislead users about emergencies, transportation, housing, events, or identity.
  • Keep conversation relevant to genuine social interaction, community participation, and any plans or groups you are discussing through Yuno.

6. Discovery, Maps, and Location Conduct

Yuno includes map-based and nearby discovery features. Those features exist to support local social connection, not tracking, surveillance, or coercion.

  • Do not use Yuno's map or nearby features to stalk, follow, monitor, ambush, or otherwise track another person.
  • Do not attempt to infer or expose another user's home, workplace, classroom, or real-time whereabouts from their profile, activity, group membership, or map visibility.
  • Do not pressure users to disclose exact location beyond what they voluntarily share through the service.
  • Do not manipulate location, create misleading location-based listings, or misuse proximity features to gain access you are not entitled to.
  • Respect that some visibility, filters, or discovery options may depend on premium status, verification, student status, or app-set eligibility rules.

7. Activities, Groups, and In-Person Meetups

If you use Yuno to coordinate activities, gatherings, or meetups, you are responsible for acting lawfully, honestly, and with good judgment.

  • Meet only in ways that comply with local law, venue rules, and public safety expectations.
  • Provide accurate details when creating or describing an activity or group, including time, place, purpose, and any meaningful expectations for participants.
  • Do not create fake groups or activities, misleading host identities, bait-and-switch plans, or events designed to scam, exploit, or harass users.
  • Hosts and moderators should use approval, membership, and chat tools fairly and should not abuse those tools to target, humiliate, or discriminate against users.
  • Do not organize events involving minors, illegal drugs, exploitation, violence, dangerous stunts, or illegal weapons activity.
  • Meet in public or otherwise safe settings when possible, tell someone you trust where you are going, and leave if you feel unsafe.
  • Repeated no-shows, last-minute cancellations, deceptive event details, or serial low-effort posting may lead to restrictions on your account.
  • Yuno is not responsible for private agreements, side payments, transportation arrangements, housing offers, or off-platform transactions between users.

8. Safety and Privacy Tips

The safest use of Yuno combines community trust with good personal judgment.

  • Use in-app tools before sharing external contact information.
  • Be careful about sharing precise location, class schedule, travel plans, where you are staying, or personal routines.
  • Never share passwords, verification codes, banking details, or payment credentials with other users.
  • Be skeptical of urgent stories, pressure tactics, or requests for money, rides, favors, account access, or quick off-app communication.
  • Verification badges, student status, profile photos, group membership, or participation in an activity are not guarantees of safety, honesty, or compatibility.
  • If a situation feels off, trust your instincts, disengage, and use Yuno's block or report features.

9. Blocking, Reporting, and Enforcement

If there is an emergency or immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement first.

You can use Yuno's reporting and blocking tools if another user, piece of content, image, message, activity, or group makes you feel unsafe or appears to violate these Guidelines.

  • Blocking a user stops further interaction, but it does not always automatically create a report for review.
  • Please report conduct that appears abusive, fraudulent, exploitative, deceptive, or dangerous so it can be reviewed.
  • False, retaliatory, or malicious reporting is itself a violation of these Guidelines.
  • Yuno may use automated systems, image analysis, and human review to detect or investigate potential violations.
  • Severe or repeated violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
