Yuno Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 16, 2026
Effective Date: April 16, 2026

Welcome to Yuno, LLC ("Yuno," "we," "our," or "us"), the IRL social platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect your information when you use the Yuno mobile application, related services, and any other interactions you have with us.

By using Yuno, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use our services. If you have questions, you may contact us at support@yunosocial.com.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Yuno collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects personal information in connection with the Yuno mobile application and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Some of the information we collect is necessary to create and maintain your Yuno account, provide core platform features, and protect the community. Other information is optional, but some features may not work properly if you choose not to provide it.

Information You Provide

We may collect personal information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Username
  • Contact or authentication data
  • Gender identity
  • Date of birth
  • Bio or profile description
  • Profile and gallery images
  • School or student email information you provide for student verification
  • Content you submit through profiles, chats, activity listings, groups, reports, or support requests

We may also process certain categories of sensitive information where permitted by law and, where required, with your consent, including biometric data, student data, and precise location data.

If you make purchases, we may collect information necessary to facilitate payment processing, such as transaction-related data, purchase receipts, subscription status, and entitlement or restore information. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers such as RevenueCat, Apple Pay / App Store, and Google Pay / Play Store.

Social, Community, and Communication Information

When you use social features, we may collect and generate information related to your activity on the platform, such as:

  • Direct messages, activity chats, and group chats, including message content and related metadata
  • Friend requests, friendship status, and social graph information
  • Activity and group membership, join requests, approvals, and host or moderator status
  • Reports you submit, content you report, blocking actions, and related moderation history
  • Notification history and in-app interaction records related to social activity

Social Login Information

If you choose to register or sign in using a third-party login provider, we may receive limited profile information associated with that account, such as your name, email address, and profile image, depending on the provider and your settings with that provider.

Verification, Consent, and Trust & Safety Information

We may collect or generate information used to confirm account authenticity, eligibility, legal acceptance, and platform safety, including:

  • Face verification or face comparison inputs and results
  • Student verification status and school association records
  • Records showing when you accepted legal documents, including document version, date, time, and acceptance status
  • Signals related to fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and account security

App Permissions and Device Access

If you use Yuno on a mobile device, we may request permission to access certain device features, including:

  • Location services
  • Camera
  • Storage
  • Push notifications

You can manage these permissions in your device settings. Some features may not function properly if permission is denied.

Location Information

With your permission, we may collect precise or approximate device location in order to provide map-based discovery, proximity features, nearby people browsing, nearby groups, activities, and related safety or anti-fraud functions.

Yuno is designed so that exact device coordinates are not generally shown to other users as exact street-level location. Instead, location used for user-facing discovery is stored or displayed in an obscured form that varies by feature. For example, user location may be stored at a coarse city-scale level, while event and group locations may be stored at an approximate neighborhood-scale level with additional offset or jitter to reduce pinpointing of an exact location.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you use Yuno, we may automatically collect certain device, log, and usage information, including IP address, device identifiers, device model and manufacturer, operating system and version, browser type and version, mobile carrier or internet service provider, app usage data, error reports, crash data, session history, push token status, and general or precise location data depending on your settings and permissions.

We collect this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the service.

Google API Services

Where Yuno uses information received from Google APIs, that use will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements.

Sale or Advertising Sharing

We do not treat our internal business uses of personal information as a sale of personal information. In the preceding twelve months, Yuno’s current policy states that it has not sold or shared personal information for a business or commercial purpose in the sense described there, while still disclosing certain categories of information to service providers for business operations.

5. AI, Image Analysis, and Automated Safety Tools

Yuno offers features or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies. Yuno’s current policy identifies Amazon Rekognition as an AI service provider and states that Yuno uses AI products for image analysis. Yuno also states that platform security may involve automated moderation and that identity verification may involve face comparison.

We may use these tools to support:

  • Image analysis
  • Identity verification
  • Fraud prevention
  • Moderation and safety workflows

Information processed through these tools is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and our arrangements with service providers.

6. Social Logins and Third-Party Accounts

If you choose to register or sign in using a third-party account, we may receive certain information from that provider, such as your name, email address, profile image, and other information you choose to make available. We use that information only for purposes described in this Privacy Policy or otherwise disclosed to you at the time of collection.

Third-party login providers have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

7. International Data Transfers

Yuno’s servers are located in the United States, and your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, those countries may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and similar measures.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Yuno’s current retention guidance includes the following:

  • Account-related personal information is generally retained while you maintain an account with us.
  • Consumer transaction data may be retained longer as needed for legal, tax, and financial auditing obligations involving payment processors.
  • Biometric information used for identity verification and fraud prevention is typically retained only as long as necessary for that purpose and generally not longer than 30 days after verification is complete or the account is closed, unless law requires otherwise.
  • Precise geolocation data is retained only as long as needed to provide requested location-based services. Typically only the most recent location is stored, and historical movement data is not permanently archived.
  • Messages, reports, block records, join-request records, and other social or moderation history may be retained as needed to provide features, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, resolve disputes, and maintain safety.
  • Records of legal consent or acceptance of updated policies may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to document compliance, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
  • If you remove a school association, delete your account, or disable certain features, some associated information may be deleted promptly while other information may be retained for a limited period in backups, logs, fraud-prevention systems, or where required by law.
  • Residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized parties will never be able to defeat our protections or misuse information transmitted to us or stored on our systems. You should use the service only in a secure environment.

Yuno is not intended for children under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect, solicit, or market to children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take reasonable steps to deactivate the account and delete the information. Verification and Appeals

To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing a request. If we deny your request where appeal rights apply, you may appeal by emailing support@yunosocial.com.

12. Do Not Track

Some browsers and mobile platforms offer a Do Not Track setting. Because there is not yet a consistent industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring Do Not Track signals, Yuno does not currently respond to them. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy.

13. California “Shine the Light” Notice

California residents may request information about categories of personal information, if any, disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. Requests may be submitted using the contact information below.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other operational needs. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of the policy. If we make material changes, we may notify you by posting a notice in the app, on our website, or by other appropriate means.
