1. Introduction
Welcome to Yuno.
Yuno, LLC (“Yuno,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a mobile-first social platform designed to help users connect in real life through map-based discovery, profile browsing, messaging, activity and group participation, verification features, notifications, and related community experiences. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Yuno mobile application, any website or landing page that links to these Terms, and all related services we may provide (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, any Community Guidelines or Safety Tips we make available, and any additional terms disclosed to you when you purchase premium features or other paid services. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Services.
Access to some parts of the Services may be gated in sequence. For example, we may require you to complete login, review and accept updated legal documents, finish onboarding, complete profile fields, enable certain permissions, or satisfy feature-specific eligibility requirements before you can use particular features.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we may post the revised Terms in the app or on our website, update the “Last Updated” date, and, where appropriate, require you to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Services. Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different form of consent.
2. Account Eligibility; Your Responsibilities
Before creating an account, make sure you are eligible to use the Services.
You may not create an account or use the Services unless all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
- You are not prohibited by law from using the Services.
- You are not located in a country or territory subject to applicable U.S. embargo restrictions, and you are not on any applicable restricted-party list.
- You have not previously been removed or banned from Yuno unless we have expressly permitted you to return.
- You consent to any identity, student-status, anti-fraud, or account integrity checks that are reasonably necessary to provide the Services, including selfie-based face comparison or school-email verification where offered.
You agree that you will:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete account information.
- Maintain accurate profile information and promptly correct material inaccuracies.
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential.
- Use the latest available version of the app when reasonably possible.
- Comply with these Terms, applicable law, and any Community Guidelines we publish.
- Use the Services only for their intended social and community purpose.
- Create activities, groups, or other listings only when you have a genuine intent and reasonable ability to host, participate in, or manage them.
- Respect access conditions that apply to certain features, including legal-consent requirements, membership approvals, distance-based access rules, premium restrictions, and verification requirements.
You agree that you will not:
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age, affiliation, enrollment status, verification status, location, or intentions.
- Attempt to bypass identity verification, student verification, onboarding requirements, legal-consent flows, membership restrictions, premium gates, or other account-access controls.
- Provide fraudulent identification materials, student credentials, or other false information to Yuno, AWS Rekognition, or our moderation team.
- Use location data or “map-sniping” to harass, track, surveil, stalk, or otherwise target other users.
- Use any automated system, including robots, spiders, scrapers, scripts, fake devices, or similar tools, to access or interact with the Services in a manner that sends more requests to our systems than a human can reasonably produce or that circumvents normal product restrictions.
- Operate more than one active account without our written permission.
- Use the Services for fraud, spam, scams, harassment, stalking, unlawful conduct, or deceptive solicitations.
- Reverse engineer, copy, frame, mirror, decompile, or otherwise misuse any part of the Services.
- Upload malicious code, interfere with system integrity, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, data, servers, or networks.
- Use the Services to solicit money, conduct off-platform financial schemes, sell unlawful goods or services, or engage in unrelated commercial advertising without our written consent.
- Create another account after suspension, restriction, or termination without our express permission.
3. Content
It is important that you understand your rights and responsibilities regarding content you post, send, or otherwise make available through Yuno.
3a. Your Content
“Your Content” means any information, text, images, profile details, messages, reactions, activity or group listings, event details, reports, support submissions, verification materials, and other material that you upload, submit, send, or otherwise make available through the Services. You remain responsible for Your Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to provide it.
Your Content must be accurate, relevant to the purpose of the Services, and consistent with these Terms. You may not post content that is unlawful, deceptive, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, exploitative, violent, defamatory, invasive of another person’s privacy, or otherwise prohibited by our policies.
Because Yuno includes profile discovery, messaging, activity chats, group chats, friend requests, join-request workflows, and location-related social features, information you share may be visible to other users depending on the feature. Please use caution when disclosing personal information.
By uploading or sharing images or other content through Yuno, you acknowledge that we and our service providers may analyze that content for safety, quality control, moderation, fraud prevention, policy-enforcement, and feature operation purposes, including detection of explicit content, spam, scams, impersonation, and other violations.
3b. Member Content
Other users may also provide content through the Services (“Member Content”). Member Content belongs to the user who posted it, not to you. You may use Member Content only as contemplated by the Services and these Terms. You may not copy, archive, reproduce, distribute, or exploit Member Content for commercial purposes or for harassment, doxxing, surveillance, training third-party systems, or other misuse without permission.
3c. Our Content
Except for Your Content and Member Content, all software, text, graphics, branding, interfaces, visual design, compilations, logos, and other materials made available through the Services are owned by Yuno or our licensors and are protected by applicable law.
3d. Prohibited Content
- Sexually explicit content, child sexual abuse material, exploitative content, or non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Harassing, hateful, abusive, or threatening material.
- Fraudulent, misleading, or impersonating content.
- False, misleading, dangerous, or manipulative event, group, meetup, host, or location information.
- Commercial spam, deceptive promotions, or unrelated advertising.
- Content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Malware, spyware, malicious scripts, or other harmful code.
- Content encouraging illegal conduct, dangerous challenges, violence, stalking, or real-world harassment.
4. Inappropriate Conduct and Reporting
Yuno is intended to support safe, respectful, real-world social interaction. Harmful conduct on or off the platform may result in action.
We may investigate reports, moderate content, restrict account functionality, remove content, suspend accounts, or permanently terminate accounts when we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms, posed a risk to others, misused the Services, or undermined the integrity of group, activity, messaging, or discovery features.
We may consider behavior both on and off the platform when it is tied to Yuno use, including conduct relating to meetups, group gatherings, activity participation, direct messages, membership requests, or interactions that began through the Services.
Hosts, members, and participants are expected to use good faith when creating, joining, requesting access to, hosting, or leaving activities and groups. Deceptive listings, repeated abuse of request systems, retaliatory conduct, or misuse of host or moderator privileges may result in enforcement action.
We may use a combination of automated systems, image-analysis tools, anti-fraud systems, account-integrity checks, automated message or content scanning, and human review to detect potential violations. Reported or flagged content may be reviewed to determine whether a policy violation occurred. We may also cooperate with law enforcement where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect users or the public.
False, malicious, or retaliatory reporting may itself violate these Terms. If your account or content is restricted or removed, you may contact us to request review, subject to any limits or timelines we set in the app or in our policies.
5. Privacy
Privacy matters to us. Please read our separate Privacy Policy carefully.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect your information. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we may process your information in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Yuno uses features that may involve profile information, legal-consent records, student verification data, face-comparison or biometric verification data, chat and messaging infrastructure, group and activity participation data, subscription information, notification data, and location-based functionality.
Some features rely on third-party providers such as authentication, cloud hosting, messaging infrastructure, payment processors, map or location services, app store platforms, and fraud-prevention or image analysis providers. You should review the Privacy Policy for more detail on how these categories of information are handled.
6. Rights Granted by Yuno
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Yuno grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to access and use the Services for their intended purpose.
This license automatically terminates if you violate these Terms or if your account is suspended or terminated.
7. Rights You Grant Yuno
By creating an account or providing Your Content, you grant Yuno a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, use, copy, reproduce, modify, adapt, display, distribute, and otherwise process Your Content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure, moderate, and provide the Services.
This includes using Your Content to support account functionality, display profiles and messages, administer friend requests, activity and group participation, operate location-based discovery, investigate abuse, enforce policies, address fraud, route notifications, respond to legal requests, and improve safety or integrity systems.
You also authorize Yuno to preserve and disclose account information or content where we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, enforce these Terms, protect users, investigate fraud or security incidents, respond to support requests, or document your acceptance of updated legal terms or policies.
8. Purchases and Subscriptions
Yuno may offer paid subscriptions or premium features through Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, or other approved payment channels.
If you purchase a subscription, it may automatically renew unless you cancel it through the platform on which you made the purchase. Your subscription benefits will continue until the end of the current billing period, after which the subscription will expire unless renewed.
Billing, renewal timing, pricing, trials, promotional offers, refund rights, restoration, and eligibility for premium-gated features are governed by the terms presented to you at the time of purchase and, where applicable, by the rules of Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or the payment processor involved. Except where required by law, purchases are final and non-refundable.
Because your subscription is managed by third-party platforms (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Store), you must request any refunds directly through those platforms. Yuno, LLC does not have the ability to process refunds for purchases made through Apple or Google billing systems.
Certain features may be available only to premium subscribers, may be subject to additional eligibility requirements, or may be changed, replaced, limited, or discontinued over time. Premium status does not guarantee access to every feature in every market, on every device, or under every account condition.
Canceling a subscription does not automatically delete your account. Likewise, deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription that is managed through Apple or Google. If you want to stop using Yuno entirely, you must also delete your account through the app or by contacting us if necessary, and separately manage any active subscription through the applicable billing platform.
9. Account Termination
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time through available in-app settings or by contacting us. If you purchased a subscription through Apple or Google, you must separately manage cancellation through the applicable app store to avoid future billing.
We reserve the right to investigate and, where appropriate, suspend, restrict, limit feature access to, or terminate your account without notice if we believe you have violated these Terms, misused the Services, created risk for other users, evaded prior enforcement, submitted false or misleading information, or exposed Yuno to legal, security, operational, or reputational harm.
We may also remove or restrict access to particular features, content, groups, activities, chats, or discovery surfaces without terminating your whole account where we believe narrower action is appropriate.
If your account is terminated by you or by us, these Terms will remain enforceable to the extent they are intended to survive termination, including sections relating to content rights, payments, disputes, indemnity, and limitation of liability.
10. Safety; Verification & AI Moderation
Yuno uses anti-fraud tools, selfie-based verification, student-status checks, account-integrity measures, or other trust and safety systems, but we do not guarantee the identity, intentions, truthfulness, conduct, availability, or safety of any user.
You acknowledge that we may use AI-powered image analysis (including AWS Rekognition), automated review systems, and automated message or content scanning to help maintain community safety, enforce policies, and detect fraud, impersonation, spam, or other abuse. These systems are not perfect, and Yuno, LLC is not liable for errors, false positives, false negatives, or omissions in automated or human moderation.
Verification badges, student-status indicators, moderation outcomes, approval to join a group or activity, or access to premium features do not constitute a warranty, endorsement, background check, or guarantee of anyone’s identity, trustworthiness, intentions, or future conduct.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, Yuno does not represent that it conducts criminal background checks, full identity-document verification, or external database screening on every user. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, whether online or offline, and you should use sound judgment and appropriate precautions when meeting people, sharing information, joining groups, or attending activities.
Yuno may offer reporting tools, verification features, moderation systems, join-approval workflows, location obfuscation, and other safety-related measures, but those measures do not guarantee that any interaction, meetup, transportation arrangement, or off-platform communication will be safe, lawful, successful, or free from misconduct.
11. Disclaimer
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. YUNO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
We do not guarantee that the Services will always be secure, available, accurate, uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, or that any content, match, message, discovery result, activity, or user interaction will meet your expectations.
12. DMCA / Copyright
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content available through Yuno infringes your copyright, please send us a written notice that includes enough information for us to identify the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, a good-faith statement, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rightsholder.

13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YUNO, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE SERVICES.
In-Person Interactions
Yuno facilitates introductions, discovery, messaging, group and activity coordination, and related social features, but does not supervise, control, or guarantee the conduct, identity, intentions, legality, quality, timing, safety, or outcomes of any user interaction. Any in-person meeting, event attendance, group gathering, transportation arrangement, off-platform communication, side agreement, or other offline interaction that arises from or relates to the Services is undertaken solely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Yuno is not responsible for the acts, omissions, conduct, or content of any user, whether occurring on or off the platform.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YUNO’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100), OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO YUNO, IF ANY, IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
YOU AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES MUST COMMENCE WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION ACCRUES; OTHERWISE, SUCH CAUSE OF ACTION IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.
14. Dispute Resolution
If you have a concern or dispute, you agree to first contact us at support@yunosocial.com and attempt to resolve the issue informally for a period of at least 30 days.
Except where prohibited by law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved through binding individual arbitration in Wisconsin, and not in court, unless either party elects to bring an eligible claim in small claims court. To the fullest extent permitted by law, class actions, class arbitrations, private attorney general actions, and other representative proceedings are waived.
15. Push Notifications and Communications
You may receive service-related emails, text messages, push notifications, authentication codes, and in-app communications from Yuno. These may relate to account security, verification, friend requests, activity or group membership actions, messages, product updates, administrative messages, or premium features.
Notifications may route you into particular areas of the Services, such as another user’s profile, an activity chat, a group chat, or other relevant surfaces. Delivery of notifications may depend on device settings, app permissions, operating-system behavior, and third-party notification providers.
You can control push notifications through your device settings and may opt out of certain non-essential communications using unsubscribe tools where available. You understand that some transactional, legal, consent-related, or security-related messages are necessary for the operation of the Services and may still be sent.
16. Location-Based Features
Certain Yuno features rely on your device location, including map functionality, nearby discovery, profile browsing, group access, activity participation, and other location-aware experiences. If you deny or revoke location permission, disable location sharing, or fail to satisfy location-based eligibility conditions, some features may be unavailable or less functional.
Yuno may use approximate or precise location depending on the feature, your settings, and device permissions. Some location-dependent features may require that you be within a defined distance of a place, activity, or group to view, join, request access to, or otherwise use that feature.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, Yuno does not generally present your exact street-level location to other users. Certain discovery and participation features may use obscured, rounded, approximate, or otherwise modified location information. For more details about how location data is collected, used, retained, stored, and shared, please review the Privacy Policy.
17. Governing Law
Except where prohibited by applicable law, these Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and by the Federal Arbitration Act where applicable.
18. Venue / Forum Selection
To the extent any dispute is permitted to proceed in court rather than arbitration, and except where prohibited by applicable law, you and Yuno agree that such dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts serving Outagamie County, Wisconsin, and each party consents to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
19. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Yuno, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) Your Content; (c) your interactions with other users; or (d) your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
20. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Services, whether through a mobile device, mobile application, website, or any other interface, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional policies or purchase terms that apply to your use of Yuno.
Where the Services present a legal-consent flow, checkbox, prompt, click-through screen, updated-policy notice, or similar acceptance mechanism, completing that flow or continuing to use the affected feature after required notice constitutes your agreement to the applicable terms to the extent permitted by law.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms or policies incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and Yuno regarding the Services and supersede prior or contemporaneous understandings regarding the same subject matter.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision will not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.
